Julien Mier
When Julien Mier was just a little boy of eight years old, he started to play acoustic guitar... Soon the teacher found out that Julien had a great talent for the guitar... That was in 1996. At the end of 1999 he stopped playing the guitar because of lack of interest for the instrument. Then Julien started playing the piano for four years, again with a talent of finding the melodies easily... He again stopped the lessons after four years, also because of lack of interest. Julien found out one interesting thing... He couldn't play just one single instrument for a long time, because the sound was getting repitive after so many years…
Then, at the end of 2004 he found a program called Ejay which was really funny to experiment with. Juliens interest for electronic music was growing... In the start of 2005 he got in touch with Fruity Loops and tried to build a commercial track which was a little similar to the contemporary music at the radio. When it was finished, it still didn't satisfy him.
Then, on a good day somewhere in February 2005 Julien posted a track on a forum (FOEM), which was slowly but steady sliding in the direction of the more experimental side of music. Rockmachine replyed on this track that it would be good enough for the newest FOEM-compilation. It immediately got Juliens attention! He uploaded two more tracks for the 9th Volume of Electronic Youth. With a great surprise "Secret of the Mill" was put on the Ambient CD of Electronic Youth: 9!
After multiple releases at FOEM, Julien became to be known in the system of FOEM... At the end of 2005 he had a few conversations with the administrator of FOEM; Rockmachine. Julien received a function in the FOEM-Crew; he now manages the contests and interviews. His motives for his work for FOEM are to create a good platform for unknown producers to get a recorddeal.
Meanwhile Julien created an unique style of music, which mostly contains electrobeats with lovely melodies. In the summer of 2006 Julien was still experimenting with other styles, such as IDM and jazz. Not to forget lounge, techno, rock and soundtracks.
Nowadays Julien works along with FOEM for a better future for unknown talented producers!
